With the guidance of their mentor, Jean-Marie Fourrier, Yann embarked on his own winemaking journey, acquiring additional vineyards in Morey-Saint-Denis, at the former Domaine David Clarke.

Up until then, Jérôme Galeyrand worked in the food industry, and his first immersion into the Burgundy world happened during two harvests at Domaine Alain Burguet in Gevrey-Chambertin. This encounter sparked an overwhelming passion for wine in him, leading him to enroll in the renowned wine school in Beaune and decide to completely change direction.

Despite not owning vineyards in the prestigious terroirs of Grand Cru or Premier Cru in Burgundy, Jérôme Galeyrand produces regional-level wines that surprisingly managed to break the barriers of Burgundy’s appellation system, achieving a quality and recognition far beyond expectations.

Since 1834, Domaine Chandon de Briailles has been the guardian of a family winemaking tradition that transcends generations. Today, this estate belongs to Count and Countess Aymard-Claude de Nicolay and their children, who keep the flame of this fascinating history alive.

The origin of the property goes back to the Count’s grandmother, Countess Chandon de Briailles, who has family ties to the renowned champagne house Moët et Chandon. This family heritage has been preserved over the years, and today the domain is a true jewel of the Côte d’Or, located four kilometers north of Beaune in the heart of Burgundy’s vineyards.

North of Beaune, in the renowned wine region of the Côte de Beaune in Burgundy, you will find Domaine Chandon de Briailles, majestically stretching over 13.7 hectares, encompassing the villages of Savigny-lès-Beaune, Pernand-Vergelesses, and Aloxe-Corton.

Starting its history as a family-owned property in 1769, Domaine Belle began producing its own wines over 200 years later, by the hands of Albert and Philippe Belle, father and son, who saw the great potential of their vineyards for producing fine wines.

The story begins in 1769 when a village assembly called by Claude François Mure, the new Lord of Larnage, brought about a radical change. Each family received a small plot of land with vineyards for personal use, freeing them from feudal obligations. From that moment, the family estate began to gradually grow, expanding over the decades. By 1930, it already comprised several parcels of neighboring vineyards, whose grapes were transformed into wine and sold locally.

However, a major transformation occurred when Louis Belle took over the property. Although Louis loved cultivating vines, he was not as interested in wine production. In 1933, he became a founding member of the Tain l’Hermitage winery cooperative. Additionally, he acquired magnificent plots of land in the towns of Larnage and Tain l’Hermitage. When Louis passed the land to his son Albert in the 1970s, the estate already covered 4 hectares spread across Larnage and Tain.

Driven by his passion for the vineyard and wine, Albert Belle began producing wines for himself and his friends. In 1990, with the newfound enthusiasm and knowledge of his son Philippe, who had completed his studies in oenology, winemaking took center stage with the creation of Domaine Belle. Together, Albert and Philippe built a modern and functional winery, providing the resources necessary to produce extraordinary wines that respect the terroir of each appellation.

From that moment on, the vineyard area of Domaine Belle rapidly expanded, encompassing various types of soil and different appellations. By the 2000s, the estate had grown to 20 hectares.

Since Albert’s retirement in 2003, Philippe has continued alone, driven by his tireless passion, committed to bringing Larnage wines to global fame.

Domaine Belle is more than just a winery; it is a family legacy passed down from generation to generation. Today, the estate spans six towns, covering three different appellations, with a total vineyard area of 25 hectares.

The future of Domaine Belle is secured with the interest of Guillaume, Philippe’s son, in winemaking. With his dedication and enthusiasm, he is poised to play a key role in the continuous growth of the estate.

Château Robin:

Château Robin is a vineyard located in the lesser-known appellation of Côtes de Castillon, close to the famous village of Saint-Emilion in the Bordeaux region. Bordering St-Emilion, Château Robin has privileged terroir and potential to produce high-quality wines with an excellent price-to-quality ratio.

The vineyards of Château Robin are situated in a historical area where the Battle of Castillon, marking the end of the Hundred Years’ War in 1453, took place. Although its history is not widely known, the property was acquired by the Thienpont brothers, Jan and Florian, in 2018. The Thienponts are part of a family that also owns renowned wineries such as Le Pin and Vieux Château Certan.

Recognizing the immense potential of the vineyards, the new owners are focused on revitalizing the property, with a strong emphasis on quality and vineyard cultivation. Although 2018 was their first vintage, they produced a small quantity of excellent quality wine, positioning Château Robin as a promising estate deserving attention in the world of French wines.
